Electronics Technician
Full Time, 3 Year Fixed Term
Salary range $74K to $79K (plus 15.4% super)

ANSTO is one of Australia's foremost scientific research and development
organisations, focused on delivering the benefits of nuclear science to
the Australian community.

The Bragg Institute is an international leader in Neutron Beam and X-ray
Science, recognised for the excellence of its scientific endeavors, its
facilities, its techniques and its people. At ANSTO, the centerpiece of
our activities is the OPAL research reactor, and along with the Bragg
Institute's state-of-the-art neutron-beam instruments, places Australia
at the leading edge of neutron scattering and X-ray techniques to solve
complex research and industrial problems in many important fields.

We are currently seeking an Instrumentation Electronics Technician to
assist in the design, development, installation, and commissioning of
instrument electronic systems within the Bragg Institute. You will be
required to diagnose, isolate and rectify faults in complex
instrumentation systems, develop prototype designs for instrument
upgrades under the instruction of team leader, and document and draft
instrument changes to the as built and original specifications.

To be successful in this position, experience with Scientific and/or
Industrial computer and electronic based instrumentation technologies is
essential. You will require experience analysing schematic diagrams,
drawings and manuals on complex systems including electronic schematics
and printed circuit board layouts, in addition to experience working
with programmable devices and equipment such as PLD, FPGA and Embedded
Microprocessor Microcontroller technologies.
 
Experience in Nuclear instrumentation systems including radiation
detectors, analog amplifiers, discrimination systems and high voltage
power supplies will be highly regarded.
