As beamlines and detectors continue to improve, the amount of data we produce is growing very quickly, and many facilities are now facing increasing pressure on data storage, transfer, and processing. Data compression has become a practical and important topic for many users and developers.</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial;"></span></span></p><p data-start="457" data-end="765"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:12pt;"> This satellite meeting would offer a chance for the scientific community to exchange ideas on current compression methods, discuss practical needs and strategies, and explore possible future directions.
