Dear Colleagues,

I would like to bring your attention to an upcoming workshop hosted by DESY on behalf of Rock-IT, which will take place from Nov 5th to 7th: https://indico.desy.de/event/49932/

Although this workshop is primarily focused on the Bluesky tech stack, in line with the Rock-IT project, we aim to broaden the scope to foster discussions across different control systems in use at various facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to bridge gaps between existing control solutions.

The Rock-IT project provides valuable examples of integration across various systems. For instance, it utilizes Bluesky as an orchestrator, while incorporating the ESRF-developed Daiquiri GUI. Additionally, Sardana has been integrated with Daiquiri using BlissData and the Bluesky Queueserver.

We would like to invite you to participate in an open discussion about these integration efforts, regardless of whether your facility currently uses Bluesky. One focus will be on the Bluesky Queueserver integration with other control software stacks as a standardized method for exposing authenticated access to beamline controls via a REST API.

Specifically, we aim to:

    - Demonstrate how the Bluesky Queueserver can be connected to Sardana and BLISS control systems

    - Explore how the queueserver manages complex experimental workflows while leveraging existing hardware control layers

    - Showcase the RESTful API for remote experiment submission and monitoring

    - Discuss strategies for deployment that minimize disruption to existing control systems
